The solar panels absorb the sunlight and the atoms in them get excited. The panels are made of silicon and it is the basic material of the panel. The electron is pushed away from the atom and it comes out of the copper wire as Direct current. The inverter then converts the DC to alternating current and it is made available through plug points. This is the basic principle of electricity generation using solar panels.
